These are some of the photographs from my Fall 2023 studio midterm crit. I continue to explore the topics that have particularly interested me throughout my college career, and work on honing the tools and experimental skills I need to capture my lived experiences and expand on my fascination with psychogeography and cultural depictions of girlhood. Here is the artist statement for this project: I’ve been focusing on themes of coming of age, the female experience, and depicting the contrasts between the physical and mental places that I currently find myself in. Using in-camera manipulation and experimentations with different colors and types of light, I use both natural imagery and imagery with a human subject to demonstrate my experience in life, right now, in Providence, RI in Fall of 2023.
